  My Miniature Portrait Purses combine recycled wool sweaters, burned out felt, hand and machine stitching, glass beads, and vintage portraits transferred to polymer clay. The contrasting images hint at the experiences and influences that lie beneath the surface of our lives. The burned out felt depicts how "heat" those trial, both big and small can sometimes create a deeper and more genuine person.The recycled felted wool represents redemption, while pointing to the core of the individual. The embellishments are the serendipitous blessings that adorn the fabric of our lives. And the portrait on top of it all is the person we present to others in the here and now.
