Story Lockets
These pendants are an update on the traditional locket using a mixed media approach. The pendant is formed from the bottom of a recycled aluminum soda can. The front is laminated with polymer clay in a variety of colorful patterns. On
the back, I have added a small collage made out of personal and collected vintage photographs. What I love about these lockets is their surprise—beautiful clay work combined with whimsical storyline. To be surrounded by art is wonderful. To wear it is even better!
The Story Lockets were featured in the spring 2008 issue of Belle Armoire Jewelry. The locket is reversible and the sentiments inside are universal. Each story locket is one of a kind, combining patterned and textured polymer clay and vintage ephemera in a unique wearable art collage.
